I checked the weather and it is staying this gorgeous over the weekend as well. So I have proposed to my husband why not to take advantage of this gorgeous weather and go to the seaside. It may well be the last chance of us bathing in the sea this year (well in UK). So we decided to go on a day trip to the sea side.

Options are countless. But being a family we would like to take the best that is on offer. I have checked redspottedhanky (as it does not charge for the debit card) first. Than to make sure I get the best fares I checked thetrainline (beware they charge, but it is good to compare). I found out what train company the redspottedhanky was offering the best deal (£23.45 for 3 of us a return ticket to Brighton) and it was the Southern. In the spirit of checking it all I went to the Southern‘s webiste and found an offpeak day return ticket for 3 of us for £22.50. Bear in mind we do have a family and friendsrail card. (And it always saves us 1/3 of a ticket price. We even use it to buy Zone1-4 day card for London and it pays itself off within first month alone. Sometimes a little investment of ths sort pays off in the longer run.) And of course I went through Quidco. A cashback site I always use and I got so much in cash back within last two years of using it, I can not believe people who do not use it. So I will get 6% of my ticket price back, i.e. £1.35 not much but these type of little things add up and by the year of the year you get at least £350 back from all your shopping and switching (energy, phone etc).

So happy now and I hope the Great British weather will stay this good and warm so we can enjoy a day of sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Yippee. Now off to prepare for our trip 🙂 I just thought I would share this with the rest of you, so you could enjoy the weather 🙂

P.S.:

All the links are clickable. And NO, nobody is paying me, I am just sharing the research I have done so you do not need to spend much time and just continue enjoying the sun 🙂

Looks like the Great Birtish weather decided to treat us well this week. Supposedly we should have a good weather all week long. I felt bad spending all day long at home today. I blame the paperwork and never endig school aplications. But I promised my tot to take her out to the Lammas park tomorrow, hope the weather stays as sunny as hot.

So if you would like to take advantage of this sudden Indian Summer = L’ete indian (humming Joe Dassin’s L’ete indian“)click if you would like to know what song it is 🙂 take your child to this park in Staines. It is free and if you pack a lunch/ picnic with you the only cost will be your ice cream and parking or bus (rail in our case) ticket. It is only couple of stops from Richmond station. And I think a return ticket to Staines from Richmond is only a fiver.

From the Staines station it is a short walk along the pleasant Staines riverside. Even if Staines is not my preferred area, this park and this stroll along the river makes up for it! A very peaceful walk. And there you will reach the Lammas park. Those who prefer to type in the postcode in a SatNav here is the address:

Lammas Recreation Ground, Wraysbury Road, Staines, Surrey, TW18 4XZ, England

If I do remember correctly the opening times are from 10 a.m and it offers:

* Large grassed areas to sit or play games.
* River to feed duck.
* Toilets.
* Ice cream kiosk
* Water sprays with play park by side
* Additional seperate play park
* Tennis courts
* Crazy golf (additional charge)

*Little train ride (additional charge)
* parking (additional cost).

Lammas park in Staines, Surrey is a great day out for when the weather is good. There is a huge playground to have fun in and also a great spray ground within an enclosed setting. There are lots of water fountains, water squirters and sprinklers. So grab a picnic and your bathers and enjoy.

The main reason I would like to take my 3 year old there is the water park. It opend at 10 a.m. (I hope, as sometimes they have maintanence works). It stops from 1p.m to 2 p.m and is on until 3 p.m. again. So make sure you are wearing shorts or capris, as you will get splashed trying to keep an eye on your child and taking pictures of water fun. I have been in Legoland Windsor and this FREE water splash play area is almost as good as Legoland one!

So make sure you take a swimming suit for your child, plenty of sun scream (water proof please), a towel, a change of clothes for your kids, a picnic and enjoy the day of free fun!

SUN!!!

Loving the sun this week end! Check out the weather stats 🙂
But are you protected enough fot those damaging UV rays?
I have receintly found that all the sun screan I used to buy is not covering enough. As most of them only protect from UVAs and not UVBs.
So next time you are buying the sun screan pay attention you are getting UVA and UVB protectred ones.
And Boots are doing buy 1 get 1 free at the moment, time to stack up and enjoy the sun 🙂

And remember we need to protect our skin be it sunny or gloomy weather:)
